About Si Paris
We are developing a hub for systems thinking and systems change in Paris. This is about putting the new set of ideas from systems thinking and complexity science to work to search for innovative solutions to systemic challenges.
Today we find that many of the challenges we face are fundamentally complex. These kinds of challenges require new ways of thinking and new ways of collaborating for which existing organizations and individuals lack capacity.
If complexity is the problem then systems thinking is the solution. Systems innovation is a new approach to innovation that tries to tackle complex problems through the use of systems thinking and new ways of
organizing via networks so as to realize transformational change. The aim is to tap into and unlock the huge unrealized potential of systems thinking to tackle wicked problems - to provide a space for people to learn about and apply these ideas within a diversity of areas.
Systems-level innovation can only be realized by ecosystems of diverse actors. We see Si Paris Hub as
a platform for building a systems innovation ecosystem in this city - and broader French nation - engaging the relevant parties in a process of co-learning and capacity building.
Systems Innovation Hubs are a network of local communities for system innovation. This is about learning how to do much needed system-level innovation. More than just learning it is also about aligning and empowering individuals and organizations towards creating meaningful impact on a systemic level.

Great idea. Systems thinking and design thinking share much in common, and service design can and has been vastly enriched and deepened by system thinking. Are there any others being created in other areas?
